In the remodeling industry, every business owner wants to get in front of more ideal clients. With a warm lead and a quality project, most swear that they can close 75% or more of the projects they estimate. The key, they stress, is in getting that warm lead.
A warm lead can come in the form of a referral or from the prospective customer having identified you as an expert in your field before reaching out to you. Homeowners are doing their research more than ever and you want them to want you as their contractor before they ever even meet you. Traditionally, referrals have been the best way to make that happen, but if you aren’t getting enough customers that way, you can still help customers find you without spending a fortune on marketing.
We recently conducted a survey of 1,000 homeowners who were considering having remodeling work done on their home. When asked to identify one place where they would want to find a contractor, aside from referrals, the five most common places (in no particular order) were:
- Visiting the Contractor’s Website
- Listening to a Podcast or Radio Show Hosted by the Contractor
- Social Media (Mainly Facebook and LinkedIn)
- Reading Articles or Books by the Contractor
- Attending an Event Where the Contractor Presented or Taught
These five marketing activities are easy to do with the right instruction. They do not take up a tremendous amount of time and, when coupled with a quality referral system, will allow you to increase the size of your customer base at a pace that is manageable for you and beneficial to your bottom line.
This month, we have worked closely with a group of remodelers from around the country to implement these tasks. Phones are ringing, customers are signing contracts and these contractors are getting EXCITED.
We would love to share more information about our system with you and if you visit us at www.bdcontractorservices.com/funnelfillers you can learn more. Registration is open and we will close it on October 21st or when it is full (which has happened both times we offered this course previously).
