Don’t overlook your current customers as a strong marketing source. Having an established referral program that benefits your customers is also a good way to keep your company in their minds. Referral programs or thank you cards with a small gift enclosed go a long way in developing customer loyalty and their desire to continue to refer business to you.
One of the realities of the construction business is that our current customers are one of our most valuable resources – as a rule of thumb, 80% of construction business comes from referrals – and that’s a hefty percentage. Unfortunately, in the quest to find new business and build our company, we sometimes overlook simple efforts that show appreciation or setting up systems that will generate ongoing referrals from those customers. Follow the quality product rule and current customers will become a valuable source of referrals.
