The larger your sphere of influence and your recognition as an expert in the construction/remodeling field, the more business that will be referred to you. Remember the basic rule of marketing – people do business with people they know, like and trust. The more that you and your company are known throughout your community, the more business that will come from the community.
Don’t forget your family as a source of referrals. They all have jobs, friends and spheres of influence where they interact with people on a daily basis. Letting them know that you appreciate their referrals will keep your business in the forefront of their minds. It’s interesting how we think of family members as family instead of thinking of them as experts in their particular fields. Remind your family members that you indeed have expertise in the construction/remodeling business and would appreciate their referrals when the opportunities arise.
The same goes for friends. Ask them to remember that the construction business is your realm of knowledge and expertise and if they know of someone needing work done, or just hear a conversation where someone mentions remodeling, that you would appreciate their referral when it’s appropriate.
